April 8, 2008: Changes to Visitor Stats and Logs Processing In response to customer feedback, on Tuesday, April 8, we will start making some changes to the way we process your visitor statistics and the way you manage your raw log files. We'll begin by first testing these changes, and will then roll them out to customer accounts over the next few days. Not clear on the difference between statistics and log files? Visit our Knowledgebase to learn more. VISITOR STATISTICS REPORTING You'll no longer have to manually click "update" or wait for them to get processed on monthly or weekly intervals. RAW TRAFFIC LOG FILES Please note that, to keep our stats processing performing at optimum levels, starting on Tuesday, April 8, we will only be keeping the last seven days' worth of raw logs in your "/stats" folder. (This change should not impact most customers because your visitor history will still be available when you visit www.yourusername.accountsupport.com/stats.) If you would like to keep full records of your past logs, you will need to visit your log files page and follow the instructions for downloading them to your computer. After we move your logs to your "/stats" directory, you'll be able to simply FTP them to your computer to keep them, a popular request from our customers. You can then easily use an external program to process your visitor stats, if you choose to do so. But please rest assured: we will not be deleting any stats--just logs older than seven days--so you'll still have a full history of visitor traffic when you land on the visitor stats page. We hope these changes make it easier for you to quickly review your stats and visitor logs!
